Celebrating forty years

St. Kilian’s Junior School has been open for forty years in January 2020. The first principal Martin Molamphy moved into the school building in January 1980. We celebrated the occasion with the Garda Band who performed for us on 15th January. At this event, we unveiled an artist’s impression of the building, with the thumb prints of every child and staff member on it. The picture was designed and developed by one of our parents Lynn Meehan, special thanks to Lynn for all the work she put into it. The picture was unveiled by Ms. Sweeney and Lynn’s daughter Ava. Father Fergus gave us all a blessing and spoke to the children and staff.  One representative from each of the first and second classes spoke to the children about their experiences at St Kilian’s Junior School and the experiences of their parents who also attended the school. The Garda band then performed a number of songs, it wasn’t long before all the children and staff were on their feet!  It was a wonderful day.
