Space Week

Space Week: September 30th – October 4th

St. Kilian’s Junior School registered a week long space event on for Spaceweek. This year our senior infant classes took part. We planned a week of activities for the senior infants where they learned about the solar system and space. We applied for unique space images for our school which were taken using a powerful telescope at the Blackrock Observatory. The photos shows Saturn and Jupiter in the night sky.  See the first and second images below. The third image is a unique image of the sun which was sent to us from The Blackrock Observatory during Space Week 2018. All our senior infants made rockets and the winner from each class talked about their rocket at assembly, where they received their prizes and space certificates.
