Science Week: 11th – 15th November 2019
Science week took place from 11th to 15th November this year and Saint Kilian’s Junior School engaged in a week of experiments and science work.
We will be applying for a STEM award once again this year, following our success over the last four years, and we will be using lots of the investigations we worked on this week in our submission.
Each year group worked on a separate science theme, doing experiments and activities as follows.
- Junior Infants: Looking at Materials and their Properties – Designing a Warm Jumper.
- Senior Infants: Fire Safety
- First Class: Birds in our local environment
- Second Class: Investigating wind energy – designing a windmill
The best scientist was selected from each class and they received their prizes and their special Science Certificates from Ms. Sweeney at Assembly at the end of November.
Agriaware’s mobile farm came to visit on Friday and brought a wonderful array of animals.
