We were delighted to welcome several volunteers from SAP and ARAMARK to St. Kilian’s Junior School on Thursday 24th October. The volunteers had previously set up beds and compost for planting. They worked with representative children from each class to plant carrots, parsnips, beetroot, kale, radishes and herbs in the new beds. The children returned to their classes and spoke to the rest of their classmates about the vegetables they had planted. The volunteers will return in early spring to show the children how to cook the vegetables they have grown. Thank you to all the volunteers for their time and enthusiasm, it was a really enjoyable experience for the children.
