Engineering Week 2nd to 6th March 2020
During engineering week, our visiting engineer Tom Murray worked with our second class children, rooms 9, 10 and 11. The children made St.Patrick’s Day cards which had a bulb on them powered by a battery for which the children made a circuit out of copper tape.
Engineering Competition
We ran a class based engineering competition during the week and the children had great fun building bridges, designing rivers, beehives, tangrams, marshmallow and spaghetti constructions, Lego features and famous landmarks.
Congratulations to room 9, Ms. Magee’s class, who were joint winners of the competition with their fabulous River Liffey meets River Thames. Room 5, Ms.Bradley’s senior infant class were also joint winners with their fantastic tangrams that they designed themselves. Both Tom, our engineer and Ms. Sweeney were challenged to complete their tangrams.
Well done to all the children for participating. Many thanks to Tom Murray for all his support during the week.
