Active Week 2024
Active Week took place from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th April 2024. The students and school staff wore their tracksuits every day and homework was replaced by Active Homework.
The students participated in lots of activities throughout the week facilitated by teachers and visiting coaches including Cricket with Ann from Cricket Leinster, Gymnastics with Ms. O’Hara, Soccer with Mr. Alcazar, and an introduction to the Active Walkway with Ms. Lehane.
We continued to undertake active breaks in our classrooms throughout the week, and some classes visited the local park and the local playground too. We also incorporated Poly Spots into our P.E. lessons and learned how to play lots of new games.
The whole school completed a Danceathon on Friday to raise money for our school. On Friday afternoon the school staff and the students participated in a Teacher – Student Dance Off. It was great fun!
The school staff completed a walk on the Active Walkway after school on Wednesday. It was very enjoyable! Each class received a Certificate of Participation at the end of the week. Well done everyone!
