Maths Eyes

St. Kilian’s JNS have been working with their Maths Eyes over the past number of years and using this approach to maths to make it fun, enjoyable and interesting. All children have access to a digital camera and they frequently take photographs with maths content. This approach helps children to see the world in a mathematical way and it encourages them to see maths all around them.

Our Maths Eyes Winners

We were delighted to have a Maths Eyes winner in the National Competition in 2016, thrilled to have two winners in 2017, three winners in 2018 and four winners in the national competition in 2019.

The four children were Fionn Graham and Ruairí O’Donnell from room 1, Kapish Bansal from room 3 and  Evie O’Connor from room 5. The children attended the award ceremony with their parents and teachers on 23rd May 2019 and were wonderful ambassadors for our school on the day. Well done to all four children for their terrific achievement.
